2007 Capri Gathering
« Reply #15 on: March 22, 2007, 04:58:00 PM »

I will not be visiting the track till sometime in April.  My understanding is we can start coming from 9:30 AM on.  I figured we would meet at the track, (we will be in the pits), and any one who wants to race can.  Once we get the racing out of the system, I think we will then head someplace else for a picnic style lunch, judge the cars and I will have some door prises.  I am trying to get a special littles event going but nothing else on that yet in case it does not pan out.  Remember this is still developing and I am willing to take suggestions on what people would like to do after the time at the tracks.  I have had an offer for one of our members to play music for us if I could get others to join him.  I like that offer and I think it is very nice of him.
By the way,  I would like to sell some seat belt covers and what money is made will go to get stuff for the outing.  Price will be $8.00 each and you tell me what color you want the word Capri in.  Last year I did some mixed colors, ( black and silver and DR. Bob wanted yellow and black)  Need some $'s Dr. Bob.
Anyway  any one interested email me at ssvejcar@hotmail.com and I will make the cover and get it in the mail asap.
Grant yours should be in the mail Monday.

This years event is going to be cool.  Imagine (for most of us, not the few speed demons out there) Running your little tub down a real NHRA drag strip.

I'm telling you, the Mid-America Capri Gathering is the Greatest thing since sliced bread for Capri owners.

Where else can you see 30+ Capri's together? Let alone the opportunity to drive your cars on real sanctioned NASCAR & NHRA tracks.  Plus, the sight of 30 Capri's together can cause a severe case of perma-smile.  The people are good, and the food is usually good.

Ya'll should make arrangements to make it to this years Gathering.  IT'S WORTH IT!!!

Hmmmmm..........Sounds like the excuses for why your car is so slow are already beginning!!
So I suppose that means you aren't willing to race me.................................

I should mention I will bring some of my RocketChips for those with XR2's that want to run some exra boost, without the downtime.

I'll also be stocked with whatever other aftermarket parts I have developed by that time.

What, exactly, is a "RocketChip", how much do they cost, and what will they do for me?

I am dead set on attending this year - I've just replaced a transmission that blew up (yes, literally)

and my water pump is leaking, timing belt needs replacement, brand new clutch is slipping..ect

Also needs a new top...no its not pretty. I was also hit by a motorcycle, insurance is going to take care of that though.

Trying to get all this ironed out before the end of the month, so I should be peachy come August.
