During Acceleration is have a miss in the motor. It appears to be a flat spot and after after I pass the spot with the gas pedal it clears up. Any Ideas what is wrong?

Hows the air filter look? Have you changed the fuel filter?

Fresh fuel?

How are your spark plugs? Plug wires? cap & rotor?
Does the VAF door move freely?

I'm going to guess its something ignition related, maybe plug wires if they're old

Is it always around the same rpm no matter the gear? between 2.5k-3.5k?

I had this issue for years and it's finally gone.    spent a lot of time and money replacing things that probably weren't necessary.

Does the problem go away if you unhook the tps or the o2 sensor?

As long as I push the gas pretty hard it's not as noticeable but if I just ease on the gas it's pretty bad. When it starts if I go ahead and mash the gas pedal on down it seems to go thru the bad spot.

Thanks JJ, I unhooked the TPS and the miss/Flat spot when away, so now I am looking for a TPS.

vintage: may not be the tps. but you're safe to drive it like that until you figure it out. will reply more later about what I did or you can search this forum for the post.

read through:

short answer: rechecked timing, and possible thermostat ground was the problem.

JJ thanks for the help! I was able to trace the 4 wires by using the wiring diagram and the orange wire labled TPS cut and installed a on/off switch in that wire until I can check the things mentioned in the aritcle. Will update after I have checked.
