will a B6T fit in a miata
« on: August 12, 2010, 03:06:00 PM »

I was just wondering how hard it is to fit one of our motors in a miata, when its all done and finished, I will have a complete motor and turbo... to fit in something. Seems like there are alot more of those around. Just wondering about the fit on the transmission and shit. Any body done one yet???? Yeah I know I would have to run a different chip, is that the same wiring adaptor, like to plug in an XR2 ECU?? some water and oil lines for the cooling of the turbo. Just a thought. Seems like that would be easier than trying to fit it in something else. (With all due resect to the fellow festiva fans!!)

The ECU/Wiring is totally different on the miata. Uses electronic ignition as well.

The stock B6T turbo manifold does not fit in a Miata. I was in contact with a gentleman who tried years ago. The engine is turned sideways and there is not enough room between the block and the framerail. Thats why all the Miata turbo manifolds are top-mount.

The block will fit, but the head has a water port drilled out on the front for the radiator, and the back has a blockoff plate w/ nipple for the heater core.

The block will bolt to the transmission yes

bump-dude!! I'll look else where it, looks like way to much work, thanks matt!!

Dude, your motor and compartment looks hot!! I just absolutely resepct the people who put the time and effort into making the "whole package" look sweet! And as we all know, you took the time... and effort! I just left SIS and ordered new blue vacumme lines and a cool blue air filter, similar to Joe's. I thought I'd throw some blue into the mix! Might buy a new blue top optima battery this weekend. Prob not, maybe buy the shit to relocate the batt.  the les shwabb works fine, and is brand new!!
