Having a little fun
« on: April 25, 2011, 10:11:00 AM »

Ok, dont hate me too much.  Waiting on some parts to further prep the Capri for the BABE rally and decided to tackle a little cosmetics.  The body on the car is in terrible shape and it looks like it was painted with a roller (looks oddly good in photos though)

Well the rally is all about cheap and fun (think Hot Rot power tour meets art car parade) so I decided to have a little fun with the paint.

When I start to fix her up properly after the rally she'll need a complete redo on the body so I figured this couldnt hurt anything.

Yeah, everyone keeps telling me the guns should be bigger, I dunno I was trying to be subtle   ;)

Should be lots of fun when I take it for state inspection.

I guess I could do a centrally mounted 50 Cal ala the A-10 Warthog...Time to see what other PVC I have laying around.

Oh dude, that's OUTSTANDING !!!  We are really hoping that you can somehow bring it to this years National Capri gathering.  I am sure you would bring home a trophy.

That's the one in September in PA?   Really just depends on the dates, Im travelling overseas alot for work this year but if Im around when it happens and the car is still chugging along (it *should* only get better now that someone is caring for it) I will try to make it there for sure.

Warthog gun would be AWESOME!Some plywood disks & pvc could shape up into a convincing replica real quick

I was just messin with ya on the size - they look great! very badass.

Once I get my machine back on the road you me and John should go cruisin!

EDIT: The MACG that Bob is talking about is in FREEPORT Illinois on August 13th. I'll be there! I host the northeast meet locally here in September.

If you need a hand troubleshooting feel free to take a spin up here one day, I have tools, maybe spare parts, & I know these cars inside out

I was thinking an old bucket and some PVC cutoffs.  Just mold it to the front bumper but not actually into it (so far all of these "accessories" aren't damaging to the car)

Definitely be up for a cruise once I get her sorted out.  My dad my be borrwing for awhile (he's in MD) after the rally so I can work on his car but it shouldn't be away long.

I stand corrected! I somehow always manage to mix the two up. FREEPORT. FREEPORT!

Was it held in Rockford in the past?
