The problem I find with lazy eye controllers, is you really don't know where they are looking.

Just cranked them down manualy. Well in the works right know Is the fabrication of my twin scroll manifold for my 16g. I've also colected a new front mount and radiator with a different mounting situation in mind. I've also got my stainless piping for my exhaust and intercooler piping, new B.O.V, FPR. Just need to finish the interior and im also O so close to picking up another non xr2 for body parts so i'll be able to even paint it this winter!! I'll keep everyone posted on updates.

Got into tearing it apart for the manifold construction.

Verry happy to find that all four oil and coolant lines are so close together on the front of the motor, makes things alittle easier.

Took a couple comparison pics. As you can see the new turbo is about the same size as the stock turbo WITH the manifold attatched.

Comparison of the two cold sides. . .

And my favorite part is the differance in the wastgate flappers.

I got my turbo flange and at this point im just wating on my head flange to start on the manifold. I'll post more during construction.

Well its been a while. I decided to have a go at building my own manifold with the help of a friend. So far its looking good and we were able to make the runners egual length which will be verry helpfull in spooling time. Were now in the process of builing the jig so we can weld it together. Heres a little sneak peak. . .

Should be done soon so i'll post updates!!

That header is beautiful !

I know there is a science to primary tube / collector tube size and I know I'm not at all familiar with that stuff but those tubes look huge - are you sure they're not too big for 1.6litres?

The elbows we used are acually a little smaller then the ones used on your average Honda manfold. For some reason they do look huge in the pictures. The fact that it's a 1.6 is not really a problem but the low comp. ratio Is. I plan on running higher comp. in the neer future. As for the welding, in the pictures the elbows are simply tacked in place. You can't weld it together on the car or all at once. You first most make a jig to secure the two flanges so when it is welded the flanges don't warp and you also can't just weld it all together because there are areas where the runners overlap and it would be imposible to weld. Therefor each runner is welded individually. Building manfolds is an art!!Hope this helps!!

I ordered it from Full Race for a miata which shares the same  head flange bolt pattern.
