my cooling fan turn on and stays on after I set the switch in start before turning the engine on. after i turn the engine on the fan keeps spinning. i know this isnt normal. what can be the problem here?

Broken wire on the thermostat housing sensor.

It's in the thermostat housing, it's a single blade style connector. Follow the radiator hose to where it meets the head, you'll find it.
