hey rocket are you still working on the ecm values looking for new tunes?

have you tried adjusting fuel injectors values?

have you talked to other programers who do ecm tunes?

I know Keydiver from the galantvr4.org board does a lot of DSM burns and has done quite a bit of options on his tunes.

Would you be willing to get in touch with him to maybe look into some more tunning options?

well the f.a.s.t. 1.5"-3" reducer came in yesterday so I was busy configuring the new setup.

I ended up with just one 45 degree bend up towards the coolant resevoir and and the rest is straight to the turbo. also moved the coolant resevoir back to the stock location.

it was dark out so I will get pics of it today if the rain stops. this has to be the best flowing intake possible for these cars considering it only has one reducer (a must with any setup considering the size of the turbo inlet). one 45 degree bend (not sharp 90's) and a straight shot into the turbo from there.

total for the setup is as follow
3"-1.5" f.a.s.t. reducer = $28
spectre air filter = $22
3"-3" silicone coulper = $8 x2
45 degree bend = $12
Vaf 3" adapter = $10

just drove it today on the way to work and what a HUGE difference in power it makes. even over the stock piping with the vaf adapter and cone filter.

will get some pics this evening

Well I made some progress today. I went to the junkyard and got myself a resistor box and iac motor.

Also had time to strip the powder coat off the gvr4 wheels and center caps. here is what center caps will look like when I am done shaving them. I am also going to touch up the wheels from the light curbage that the previous owner so kindly did for me. it's only one wheel so its not to bad.

after I finish the wheels I am going to start on the resistor box and buy some o-rings for the t-bird injectors. The smaller resistor box with the heat sinks is the one I will be using. The other two are up for grabs.

Finished shaving the center caps and leaning up the lips on the wheels. They are cleaned and ready for paint.

Also pulled the stock injectors and started comparing them with the t-bird's to see what all was different. I am going to buy the pintle caps that are stock style which are in front of the black injector. They also use a isolator instead of o-rings so I will also use those. bout to start looking online for all that.

You can also see the clip guide that you have to shave off like rcicustoms was talking about with the DSM injectors.

 

next on the list was wiring in my resistor box that I pulled out a prelude. not going to go step by step but you can follow the pics and put it all together. that and I dont want to take away from Joe's write up. It came out real nice and looks all stock.

well I have installed the DSM grey top 390'cc injectors over the t-birds. also installed new o-rings on all the injectors.

finished up the blitz ebc install and tuning it. it is out of site so when the top is down people dont see it. Its really nice to have 3 boost settings at your finger tips. stock (when ebc is off), low boost (10psi for now), and high boost (15psi) to choose from.

also installed the boost gauge and now I need to order the gauge pod from Lotek and a wideband.

still need to finish up the other two wheels and buy some tires to give this car a much better look than stock.

Just ran compression numbers today and have to say I am happy with the outcome. Doing a compression test on a car is nerve wrecking considering the outcome could be fatal.

drove the car around to operating temp and pulled the plugs immediatley to run the test. All numbers were done dry (no oil added), 10 rotations, W.O.T., and 4 test per cylinder.

#1 - 160 psi
#2 - 153 psi
#3 - 156 psi
#4 - 157 psi

They are within 4% of each other which is a healthy engine with 136k miles.

off to the next things that need to be done.

Thanks Gus! I was really happy with them considering when I installed the ebc that my low boost was 10 and I was screwing with the high boost at 15+ on the highway. That was without rockets chip so I got nervous after a few runs and switched back to low boost.

I hear all these horror stories of melting things past 12psi and didnt want to be a part of that crowd. After inspecting the plugs and the compression check, I am good to go. I am sure having the added fuel from the 390's saved my ass in high boost mode.   ;)
