The AWD set up would be easier to accomplish between the 2.
If in the case of a RWD setup you'd have to rotate the block 90 degrees.Not sure exctly how much work would be involved with custom fabricating engine and transmission mounts though...

SR20DET out of a GT-I in japan, AWD and sidemount. car is even about the same size as the 323. i bet things would fit up nice and the SR has so many mods available
