Got the bumpers and lights swapped over..did all the body work and paint in the back yard. Not bad for first try!

So i started on the final stereo install and got it in...weeks later i decided to sell the car. I was night and day from the time i brought it home until i sold it. All this happened in just under a year and it was on a strict budget. Way worth it in the end..I may come back to the Capri world again. That was the second turbo one i owned. They say the third time is a charm!

just wanted to add, that you can buy replacement carpet for our cars. My experiance was that they fit nicely but need to be trimed and fitted, (just like all carpet), I chose to put black in my car, cause i redid the seats black.
For those who dont know, go to

www.midcountymustang.com

and request a capri catalog, they have lots of parts and are good people in my book.

...Gostlrs... When you cleaned the old stock carpet & touched it up with fabric paint... Did you do anything about the old pad under the carpet? I don't know if it is jute or foam rubber but I'm sure the one under my old carpet would be really dirty.  I'd like to get by cleaning the old carpet, touch-up any bad areas & maybe add a couple of mats. I'd rather spend the saved bucks on a new CANVAS convertable top.
Any cleaning suggestions would be great.

I think the carpet was only around $$200 shipped and what a nice differance it makes... I do realize how much a new top means, with out it the carpet is worthless!!!! I want a new top also and will get one, Lots out there to chose from. The only reason i want new is that the back window can come pre-tinted!!!! got to match the windows you know!!!! God, these cars are like funnels into which you pour money!!!!!!

Everything seems to be just around $200 (except the 'up-grade' canvas top which is around $300) I just thought cleaning & re-using the carpet would be an area where I could save some $$$.

Great pictures.  I enjoyed looking at the evolution of your car before you sold it.

In your reply #17 post, what is that egg crate material you put in the fog lamp and air scoop areas?  How did you attach it?
