oil catch can
« on: December 10, 2009, 05:40:00 PM »

so after cleaning up my engine bay i relized that the breather filter kind of made a mess in the bay at high rpm and "Spirited" driving

i want to get an oil catch can but know nothing about them... any advice on what brand and how to install.

hey josh, when it warms up a little I'll take a shot of mine. I was running a small breather filter, and ran into problems with it filling up with oil and then leaking, so I put back on the catch can. Works ok, I have another valve cover to replace the one I have, it leaks. I will clean all the little nooks and cranys on the replacement and hope it takes care of the blow by.

RCI has one one his..see his pics..

he did his in between the PVC and valve cover (passenger Side), you are talking about the one on the drives side that use to go back to the intake. you can also put on there if you want. i recommend it for those that are still stock for sure.

price depends on what they are made of and name brand. there are even articles on how to make your own. search ebay for "catch can" there are tons to choose from in many colors

i run a catch can between the intake and the valvecover after the pcv so none of the crap gets into the combustion chamber...

lately ive been getting a bit of blow by getting on my transmission, so i will be installing another on the other side (driver side) with a breather filter on one side of the catch can...

this is how it used to be set up anyways....
its different now but you get the idea
