What did you do to/with your Capri today?
« on: December 03, 2007, 08:19:00 AM »

I got this idea from a Protege forum from a guy who got it from a VW forum.  What did you do to/with your Capri today?

I went and played in the snow.  Capris have got to be the funnest car I've ever driven in the snow besides a buddies modified WRX.  Throw it into a snow-covered turn with a slight flick and fly through the corner at the top of second gear with moderate left-foot braking and some crazy slip angles.

Well I took Christina out for a drive a couple times today. Nothing exciting. But she's still reeling from a couple of drives we took over the week-end out of town. My room-mate and I took her sister, Mercedes on a trip to the coast. We did some windey roads. Had a great time. Gus.

I just paypal'd the guy $16 dollars with my adress and told him to ship it with the needed sensor.  You could also sign up for an account and PM him with your order.  His paypal information is somewhere on the thread.  Be careful (or not) when surfing the site, there's lots of random porn.

I was pulling e-brake slides in the factory parking lot, and drifting sideways thru my community today...stupid snow.

Is that gauge deal legit? $16 for a gauge with an electrical sender doesnt sound quite right.

Well I fired up my silver "Janis". I finally got her new engine dropped in and fired her up tonight and checked all her vitals. I'll probably drive her to the coast Sunday. It's been more than 3 months since she last sung her schrilling notes. She'll soon come to a roar, wanting to stretch her loins. Gus.

Hey Guys! Well I took Janis for a 20min drive around the hood tonight. It reminded me that it's a jungle out there. Janis just purred as we entered her old digs. One could tell she was anxious to stretch her legs to let others know that she's back. I just kept her reined in. When she was put to bed,I could here her whisper goodnight and blurt out "It's nice to be back Daddy."  Gus.

Unfortunately, I have done nothing with my Capri for about a month.  It's locked away in storage for winter.  I'm stuck driving a 1996 Mercury Sable Wagon for winter. ($800).   :(    I miss the Capri... The Turbo, the MPG, the manual, the heater.  Yes, the Capri have a better heater than the Sable.

I am in the same situation. My Capri has been in storage since the beginning of November. The only activity with the car being adding fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and installing a new exhaust manifold shield. Living in the Midwest, with all the rock salt and liquid de-icer they put on the roads, keeps me from driving it till spring.

I just got an email from the boost gauge guy and he is sold out until further notice, he's legit though.  All of their vendors are legit, sign up and look at their classsifieds.  $50 rebuilt VJ-11s, $100 Tial wastegates and $125 EBCs have all been up recently. Everything on there is cheap.  There's guys turboing hondas for ~600.

I went out looking for races today, took out a supercharged Pontiac 3 times from a dig, modified MK3 Jetta from a 40ish roll, modified MK 3 GTI 16v from a 0-100 dig then a couple rolls from 80, a stock delsol who just appeared while I was racing the GTI and quickly disappeared out of sight once we hit 120ish, a stock automatic '96 stratus (lol) from 50 to 80 in fourth and a MK4 1.8t GTI from a 40 roll then a 30ish roll all on snows at 9 pounds.

I also emailed the guy, and was told he was out of the boost gauges, and he probably will not be getting anymore.  I did however pick up an oil pressure gauge, and an oil temp guage w/sending units for $32, shipped!!!
