Starting problems
« on: April 01, 2008, 04:43:00 AM »

Hey,
I developed a very strange problem this morning, when I start the car everything is normal until the key goes to the start position.  When the key is in the start position, power completely cuts out to everything, no clock, gauges, lights, nothing.  Battery voltage is 12.75.
Thanks

Depending on how the switch is connected inside, it could be a bad ignition switch.  It may be a bad connection to the switch or somewhere in the starting circuit also.  Without looking at wiring diagrams and stuff, that's what I'd check first.

I fixed this last night, in spite of looking perfectly ok and testing perfectly ok one of the wires from the battery had an intermittent fault.
