I was really just kidding about the UN/A classification.  There is already some question at the meet as to what constitutes "stock" and when you have modified enough not to be "stock" anymore.

The challenge would be to figure out a definition for a second category of "modified" that was different.  Even if you succeeded in doing that, however, judging the entries would get really complicated.

There is currently a casual and simple aspect to this process that makes it work.  It might be btter not to mess with it.

Most car clubs/car shows I attend define "modified", as more than 2 changes to the stock vehicle. Rims and exhaust would still be stock. Rims, exhaust, and an aftermarket wing would be modified.
I like how ours works, maybe because for me, there is no question as to which category the car goes in: Super Roo is obviously modified, but my Daughters car has got to be as stock as they get!

And I have a problem with the nothing allowed rule.  All I did was put on a cloth top and a strut brace I have to run as modified.  That's a far cry from the SuperRoo and the GTxr2.  I'm in favor of the no more than 2 rule.  Maybe we need to take it to a vote.

its simple...make a list of items that makes the car "modified" and then you pick "X" number of items done from that list equals a modified car.you can have bone stock, lightly, and heavy. merge the NA & XR2 classes and separate by year, thats only adding 4 more

for me..my car is a daily driver...i know there are different classes for that as well.its much harder to keep something thats always on the road looking nice then something that sits all winter and only comes out during the spring and summer.this will be my first one so i really have no idea what classes there are, who votes and so on..so we will see how it goes.

Don't forget- we only get 35-40 cars that show up. People still complain about the cost of registration, now add 4 more trophies on top of that cost, and it will cost more per person to register. The more cars we can get to show up, the cheaper it should be per participant. That means every one of you guys need to sell, sell, sell this meet to every Capri owner you run across.  Take their numbers, make follow-up calls, get people to come.
Every group has growing pains, and this is part of ours. Eventually, we will be able to get it all sorted out, but I think it wouldn't hurt to make it a subject of discussion at this years meet, if you guys think it needs to be discussed.
I personally, am happy with the way it stands now. But that is just me. Besides, I think I know what car has the 94 modified class sewn up this year!!

I like the idea of the 2-mod rule... I think that would work pretty well

Cost changes each year, but it is affordable. Especially considering the food, Bags-O-Crap, and everything you'll go home with.
Classes are simple:
91 Stock
91 Modified
92 Stock
92 Modified
93 Stock
93 Modified
94 Stock
94 Modified

The trophies are just part of the fun, and the cars are judged by the participants. We also have the "Polished Turd" award, as well as a long distance award.
But, let me stress that this is NOT a car show!! It is a gathering of car owners with a common interest!  It doesn't matter what kind of shape your car is in. Hell, we brought a white 91 N/A with a busted-up body kit, red hood, black hard top, missing headlight, running on 3 cylinders, and a slipping clutch, and had just as much fun with that, as we do with the show cars.
