Decoding a Part Number
« on: May 02, 2009, 10:47:00 AM »

Hello All -
I am in the process of restoring my 1993 Capri. After installing a new windshield on the car I noticed a strange factory embossing on the under side of the plastic strip that goes right above the windshield.  It is a miniature calendar starting with 1989 thru 1993 and there are months punched out on the calendar. Was wondering if this had any manufacturing relevance or just a meaningless code.  Sorry if this is a stupid question but it was kind of weird and I was curious.  Thanks Jeff

Yes it is a manufacturing code.  I make parts for Ford and that is on every part we make.
